Oh The Days Of October~

Chilly morning, the frost on the pumpkins, the cats wearing their sweaters, kicking the frost off their paws,
noses in the air sniffing, soon they will be "thinking" BRRR,too cold we will stay in this time.

October, came and went so fast,White Oak mountain ablaze with autumns glory, the wood smoke has already scented the hollow,
soon the bareness of the long winter will be here.

I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it was always June.

Dining on a Train~

LaMarr and I love old trains, we have rode the rails through the beautiful mountainside in winter and fall.
In the Spring we rode the caboose diner cars to Nantahala, round the steep mountain with drop offs that seemed to go on forever, the train track is built around the mountain, with tunnels deep and dark~
The main train station is a museum for vintage trains, the mind wanders back to days long ago, the train smoke smell, the whistle at the train depots, vintage lamps lighting the diner cars .
Dinner on a train car while riding through the mountains is a unique experience~

Autumn we ride to Lookout mountain through the Chickamauga Battlefields.
Where the war was fought, land marks that tell a story of a war long ago~

Dinner choices -- carved English roast of beef topped in a Madeira sauce, roasted stuffed breast of chicken with a wild mushroom cream sauce or cumberland sauce, or crusted filet of salmon with a béarnaise sauce or red pepper butter.
Memories are "Everything" make one today to last a "Lifetime"~~~

Denim and Lace~Upcycled/Recycled Rags

Beautiful fall day, cool brisk just the kind of day to "Junkin"
Kristy and I had breakfast at Cracker Barrel this morning.spent a couple hours hitting the resale shoppes.

We found some great things,Kristy's finds were several vintage garments, A long brown sweater (floor length~) has tans and deep gold threads,,vintage buttons..
a tan crochet blouse, chocolate color linen Knee pants.
Great colors for autumn~
My find was 3 vintage ivy plate holders,3 bed jackets, you cannot find a bed jacket in the stores.
This bed jacket has a overlayer of Vintage Lace.Love it~I would say (once belonged to someones grandmother) they reminded me of my granny, guess thats why I love bed jackets..

Recycled overall~

I cut the bib off,

add tattered rags and laces attached it slightly slanted on the front, makes a great extra pocket for keys and cell phone.

I then cut the straps off.keeping the clasps on..attached them together added trims..now the straps can be clasped onto the denim bag using the original pieces

added my vintage tag to the back, added lace trims to back pockets
I sewed the bottom together, and then boxed the corners.
added hand made silk roses, rhinestone buttons vintage trims
