When someone passes away,Its very hard to go through ones life.
LaMarr's mother left her old homestead to LaMarr and I.
He being an only child, it was to me to go through her life and salvage her treasures.
She loved cut crystal, china, dolls the fine things women love.
The attic crammed full of things she just sat aside, trunks dusty with cobwebs,a baby cradle her only child slept in,his baby clothes placed lovinly in tissue.
His 1st.step recorded, along with a pair of worn baby shoes.
How do you read the love letters she ribbon tied from his dad while he served in the war?
Do I set aside her life in a trunk,to be forgotten over the years?
I suppose we all save a little of our selves in an old trunk shoebox or our memory.
In a dusty old cardboard box these lamps, were wrapped in newspaper. The upper porch now holds one of the old lamps along with a vintage doll I hand painted many years ago.

Once Vintage~ Now Shabby Chic~
Attic finds, while in the attic today I happened upon this old table,
I remember when LaMarr's mother used this old table by her bed, over the years the stain was damaged.
I dug out my paint brush an old can of white paint, set the paint in the sun to thicken, makes a wonderful old chalk paint.
The paint has a thick texture,to enhance the antique look.
These are the before and after photos, after the table dries,I will add a dry brush charcoal paint, wipe as I go with a clean cloth.
.I now have a wonderful old table for my bedroom/bath or porch..Hummm where to sit it..smile~Before her coat of color~ stored in the attic for years
The stain is peeling away.what a treasure to paint,a new beginning~
After the 1st, coat of paint

~Have A Heart~
“Have a heart that never hardens,
a temper that never tires,
a touch that never hurts.”
Charles Dickens
~Hold On~
“Throughout life, one does not miss any chance
to hold onto the things that are really precious,
if one is truly wise.”
Ed Greenwood
“I do believe"
“I do believe it is possible to create,
even without ever writing a word or painting a picture,
by simply molding one’s inner life.
And that too is a deed.”

~HeartStrings~. Life in a Journal~
This beautiful tooled journal was a gift from LaMarr~
Over the years I have kept journals, Someday I will leave them for my children,I hope they find time or care, to read about my life.
While browsing a bookstore one day several years ago, I found a journal from a mother to her children, The journal was called "Heart Strings". It contained her name and to her daughter. I researched her name for awhile to no avail.
As I was reading the journal I thought, How could anyone part with this treasure.
She wrote of all the things
"That you never knew about me"
It was sad, happy, and personel I felt like I was invading her ptivacy, But I could not lay the journal aside and forget about it.
From her 1st. love to despair..written on pages scanning many years..
I keep the journal by my bedside, and often wonder about the woman that wrote her life story,
when she took pen to paper..did she wonder if a stranger would someday read about her life.
I would like to think she would not mind..as I read her journal, I feel a kinship with this stranger in HeartStrings~
Writing down your thoughts and feelings is a therapeutic activity.
Journaling can be a healing process to help you get in touch with your deepest yearnings,
find resolve for problems, and deal with personal issues.
