I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it was always June.

Autumn you are so beautiful, so many things I want to do today,
The most important, to enjoy this gorgeous day, riding the old john deere lets your mind go anywhere, the mountain ablaze with colors,The smell of fresh cut grass, cool breeze, the leaves gently falling, a very peaceful day.

Lemon and Limes~
The season is changing, makes one want to catch up before Winter arrives.
We thought we had our other house sold, but the loan did not go through for the ones wanting it,we really wanted to sell the house, so much upkeep here at our home, that having to mow, trim, check on the house is time consuming.
LaMarr and I planted a lime and lemon tree,Saturday the trees were loaded with fruit when we planted them, I just hope they will grow in the deep south.

Raining and Cozy~
Sat out on the porch watching the rain, the mountain looks so fresh and clean,
A warm cozy day, baking a loaf of banana nut bread in the oven,
while it is baking I will wash my collection of salt shakers.
These little high heels my daughter Ben gave me. This set was my grandmothers favorite
A few of the salt and pepper shakers my grandmother collected
Well thats all done. Now for a piece of that banana bread and a cup of tea~
A Blessed day~

A Page Turned~
Summer went away one day, seems like a page turned and it was Autumn.
The rain came in torrents, the creek filled to overflowing, the smokey haze on the mountains drifts from the trees,It's once again fall.
The sound of the wind changes to soft sighs to crisp ruffles.
The road I once walked amid the wildflowers is now a smokey haze.
Gone are the Queen Anne's Lace, Wild Violets, the lacy moss. now the lichen has taken there place

The Old Farm~
The Old Saying~ "You Can Never Go Back Home Again" is really true~
Sometimes I think it is best to leave the Memories in your mind~
Visiting grandpa's old farm, driving down the road, overgrown with time, the farm house is weathered and worn, no longer in use,
The big house is what they live in now,Grandpa's old rocker still sits on the porch,
Coming back here just isn;t the same, too many years have passed, too many things have changed.
Passing over the wooden bridge reminds me of years ago, where the preacher baptized in the muddy creek,
My sister and I would watch sitting on the wooden beam of that old bridge.
Down in the River to Pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown,
Good Lord, show me the way.
Oh, sisters, let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down,
Oh, sisters, let's go down,
Down in the river to pray.
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown,
Good Lord, show me the way.
Oh, brothers, let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down,
Come on, brothers, let's go down,
Down in the river to pray.

September~
An open home, an open heart...here grows a bountiful harvest. -- Unknown
Last days of summer, the changes are aleady abundent here in the hollow~ The old oak tree has a new outfit on,she looks pretty in her shades of autumn.
The creek is drying up,the beavers moved on to the lower pasture,we haven't had enough rain this year,so they haven't built too many dams.
While walking I noticed the walnuts have disappeared, the squirrels have gathered them up for winters food supply.
Natures critters lets you know the season is changing.
LaMarr and I visited the Winery this morning, love to stroll the vineyard, they were having a grape stomp,I sure hope they do not use those grapes in the wine?
We shopped at the fresh market, finally found asian eggrolls,so delicate,we plan to make corn, black bean, and jack cheese egg rolls.
We had lunch at Big River Grill, the food is so good.
Dessert chocolate mousse dripping in hot choc sauce,~~~
Stopped off at the book store,4 new books smile~
Cleaned the pool,lazed around,
Time to get busy, company coming, firepit ready, fruit kabobs, corn on the cob and steaks.
Take the gentle path. -- George Herbert
It's not what you look at that matters. It's what you see.

Owl Hollow~
The week has been a hectic one, canned all the veggies from the garden, cut back my rose bushes, cleaned all the pool stuff, getting ready for fall.
LaMarr, stacked wood for the firepit, looking forward to cool evening with family and friends, sitting out roasting marshmellos, hot dogs and making smores.
The days of Autumn is upon us,the scents of fall leaves burning, wood smoke in the mountains, warm socks and nubby sweaters.
Fall festivals, love to walk the festivals enjoy the people, the food, crafts, the old corn mazes, pumpkin patches, the Chapel Hill Haunted woods.
Fall is the most beautiful of seasons.
The wildflowers fade,
the mountain appears to be on fire,
The late summer days are leaving the holler, the critters gathering the last of the food nature supples, ready to snuggle down for the cold days ahead,They will have to make do till Spring once again comes to the mountain
