A time for "Dressmakers"

I am addicted to anything "dressmaker" my love of vintage adorn these beautiful old forms.

I found this dressmaker on line,the dressmaker is cream, but has an extra cover of black..the black shows the jewerly so pretty~

The wicker one my daughter Ben gave me one year, the wire one LaMarr found at Victorian Trading Co,

this gorgeous Rose one my daughter Kristy gave me..

Making Tattered Shabby Tags~

Watching TV is not my forte~ It is a waste of time,my mind is always on a something more productive~
But sometimes LaMarr, wants me to sit with him..watching TV. Not me~
I gather one of my projects and "Pretend" to enjoy a show he thinks is interesting~
I have these pretty vintage cards I printed off

Tattered crochet and Lace scraps to small for another project is perfect for these tags~

Adding snippets of lace.silk roses to the Paris Tag~

I attached the printed image by whip stitching it onto a piece of tattered lace.

I sewed layers of scrap crochet to the tag. added baby pearl buttons

added a tattered string of lace to hang the tag..scented with Rose Oil..a treasured little tag~

Paris tag is hand stamped with Paris and Fragile on the tattered hanger~

Vintage Tattered Heart Pocket~~

Time to let go of the past and get on with living~
The best therapy for the soul is to stay busy.
The rain this week has been a blessing for me, I have finished projects that have been neglected.
Cleaned nooks and crannies, my office is organized, the house will be ready when Spring comes..I will be able to spend time outside in my gardens.

My sewing room is my haven,looking out the windows to the back meadows, is comforting.

Fabrics,buttons,laces,things I love,a delicate silk slip draped over a dressmaker..a woman needs her :private place"~

Going through a hat box,I found a vintage heart pocket, I worked on Oh I guess 6 years ago.

The gathered section is from my daughters prom dress, ( she did not want to keep) so I upcycled.
Cameo from a "Junkin" find.

A gold key adorns the heart pocket, vintage buttons,seed pearls,

Hand quilted scraps,laces,vintage rose fabrics

and old vintage lace heart filled with dried roses, tucked in the pocket..scented with rose oil,

vintage trim attached to heart, for hanging in a favorite place.
