Summer went away one day,seems like a page turned and it was Autumn.
The rain came in torrents,the creek filled to overflowing,the smokey haze on the mountains drifts from the trees,
The sound of the wind changes to soft sighs to crisp ruffles.
The road I once walked amid the wildflowers is now a smokey haze.
Gone are the Queen Anne's Lace, Wild Violets,the lacy moss. now the lichen has taken there place
